Roadmap for ActALIVE development in 2008-2013:
Website: this will hopefully be developed along the lines of a "caravan", with stops in different countries and regions to highlight the work of organizations and individuals there. There will be urls, pictures, materials related to the work of members, and a wish-list plus a donations feature on the site. Samples of music, radio shows, and a list of upcoming events will also be featured. A comprehensive database is envisioned, and a monthly newsletter.
Practitioners Forum: for interchange of best practices, as well as online learning and sharing. This is different from the current eforum, where articles and notices are posted, people announce events, and chat casually. The current forum will continue, and everyone is welcome to join: actalive-subscribe@yahoogroups.com.
Festivals: to highlight ongoing work in the edutainment field, to showcase what is happening globally, to make a greater impact with our work, to foster a sense of unity and connectedness among participants, volunteers, artists, and audiences, and to help our members and others in the field gain recognition and support for their work.
ActALIVE country chapters: Chapters are forming in Kenya, Nigeria, The Gambia, and Zimbabwe, and hopefully more will follow locally, nationally, and regionally.
Partnerships, Collaborations, Friends: We have linkages with the Global Youth Coalition on HIV/AIDS, Art4Development, oneVillage Foundation, One World Beat, Development Partnership International, Community Arts Network, and many other nonprofits, individuals, and groups worldwide. We plan to expand this list of friends, partners, and collaborators in future, and welcome your interest!
